I've been looking for this particular game for nearly 6 years now, me and the other kids used to play it on the study hall. (i live in Bulgaria, idk if they have it in other countries but you basically leave your kids in this building not affiliated with the school and there's teachers that help you with your homework)The way it worked is we would finish our homework with the help of the teachers and then they'd let us play on the computers or watch a disney movie until it was time for our parents to pick us up after work. I attended that place from when i was in the 2nd grade until (i think) the 5th grade (that's 2008 until 2010) so i'm guessing that game predates those years by quite a lot.
General description that i can remember:
The game is a sidescrolling platformer, from left to right just like your regular platformers. The thing that made it stand out was that you could also jump and climb upwards (and also jump down in underground passages) by a lot, this made the maps seem very large. I dont remember any of the objectives besides that you had to get to the end of the level. You had a character which you could switch and they all had different weapons/superpowers/abilities ( i think you had to unlock them first at specific levels though, the game must have started with you having only one character) As for the design of the characters i can't really remember anything that stood out except that they looked really small when compared to the screen, i vaguely remember them looking like men in different colors/patterns. Because of the characters having weapons i'm thinking there must have been some mobs but i dont remember how any of them look like, all i know was that the superpowers of your characters looked very extreme, a vague memory reminds me that the mobs might have been humanoid shaped although idk. The characters were the main thing i focused on, they were definitely obtainable through some sort of challenge and they definitely had different powers(maybe that was the focus of the game but again i am not sure). The background of all of the levels was pretty much the same, i think - A kind of forest and the platforms were dirt-colored, the ground as well. When you dropped into one of those underground passages the background was also dirt. When you went above the forest the background was pretty much the sky.
The game ran on old windows computers, not too old like windows 95 though, maybe windows xp(although from what i remember it looked like it could run on older PCs as well). The graphics weren't great, they were definitely 2d and i dont think there was any shading. I definitely wouldn't say it's a popular game since i haven't seen anyone talk about it or play it after i stopped going to that study hall, so i would scratch off any very popular platformers. Also an important factor is that the game was in Bulgaria ( i'm not saying that it's made here just maybe it was a niche platformer from Europe). As for the release year of the game i can't tell but it felt like it must have been made in the late 90s/very early 2000s. The vibe was very 2000s flash game but i remember it being an installable game as i played it not through the browser . (it might have run on flash tho idk)
I've tried looking for that game for a while now and i couldn't find anything remotely close to it, best i could find were some early flash stickman platformers but they're not it. I'd love it if anyone here could confirm that this game exists or help me find it, i'll try to recollect more memories of it but for now that's all i can remember...
I'd be super grateful if anyone gets me any closer to finding it as i've been longing to play it for quite a while now, just for old times' sake
