When I was younger I remember having this big binder thing full of DVDs and CDs. I had this one DVD and I loved it I watched it all the time and from what I remember of it was it was like a mix of 3D and 2D animation, the 3D animation was kind of rudimentary if I remember right, probably mid to late 2000's. I think it was a show but it might have been a movie, I have kind of a bad memory. The man characters were these little monster things, they were probably from a licensed property but I'm not sure what property. One of the other main characters was this girl that came from a different planet. If I remember right the 2D elements were in the anime style. I don't remember a lot of the character designs other than a blob (who was my favorite character) but I have no idea what colour he actually was because I have Tritanopia and he looked teal to me. I do remember that one of the main plot points was something about an egg and a sun that was made in a lab.
I know of my neighbor totoro and its not it it was very vibrant in colour from what I remember not really the neutrals of Miyazaki. I think the best thing that it could be compared to in colour pallet is sailor moon and the style comparison is a very simple anime style. Also the time line wouldn't add up because totoro was made in 1988, not mid-to-late 2000's.
