Nickelodeon “Mime” Station IDs 1980-1981

Beginning during Nickelodeon’s second year on the air as a network, they created a batch of station IDs that featured a mime preforming random acts against a black background. They lasted for two years, from 1980-1981. These acts from the found IDs include:
• The mime putting his hat on a broom, then he dances with it while the 1980 Nickelodeon text in white, fades in below.
• The mimes’ hat on the black background. His white gloved hand lifts it up from underneath, waves at the camera, then the hat lowers back down again while the white 1980 Nickelodeon text fades in above the hat.
• The mime takes his hat off and he makes a silly face while the 1980 Nickelodeon text fades in under him. The scene “shrinks” down onto a magazine that he’s reading. He lowers it down to reveal his eyes, winks at the camera, and lifts it back up resuming reading.
• The mime doing tricks with his eyes while the 1980 Nickelodeon text fades in on his hat. He then looks up at the text as it fades in.
Reportedly, people who saw those IDs on TV back then remember seeing a few other ones; of which there is no available footage online.
The missing “Mime IDs” include:
• The mimes’ gloved hand reaches up to grab a string of a lightbulb, and he pulls it; turning the lightbulb off. (This ID was apparently used as the sign-off bumper for the network during those two years.)
• An unknown ID involving the mimes’ gloved hand, and a toothbrush. (Literally that’s all I know of what this ID would have shown) 😑📼
Edit: According to a comment on the YouTube video of footage of this, someone said that there were up to 40+ bumpers featuring this mime; and each playing at different lengths.
