Is there anything to be excited for regarding lost media currently? I feel like this is the most dead we've been in a while.
There are a few things coming through the pipeline... I think we're definitely making progress with the Clock Man search. I gotta say though, I disagree about that last part, I feel like there have been WAY deader times than this; we got Swirlee just a couple of weeks ago and I definitely feel that that was one of the higher profile pieces listed on the site.

Oh; I didn't start frequenting the site until July. I'm a huge Muppet fan, but ADWS is what made me join the site.

You've kind of talked about this before, but what's your process for recovering lost media? How do you know who to contact, do you have an order or preference (ex: the Director or Studio if looking for a movie). For someone like me, looking for a real event that nobody owns (old debates) what would you recommend?

I don't really have an order of preference, suffice to say that I just see how many people involved in the production I can track down and then reach out to as many of them as I can.
For the debates, I would probably try contacting the TV station(s) on which they aired, or maybe even some members of the press that were present.
It comes from a "song" I made circa 2006 called "Dy Cait" (for what it's worth, the name means nothing and is just something that I came up with at the time). I used to make half-assed music in FruityLoops back then, but this track was purely experimental and was namely just a recording of a glitched out video trying to play in Media Player, with background noises around my house. It wasn't good, haha. Anyway, I did like the name and how it sounded and eventually started using it as my online identity, but spelt slightly differently.

Hi Dycaite. I just have some questions for you: 1. How do you choose which media to find? Do you have any preference for what to start looking for and what to just pass? 2. Supposed that a certain piece of lost media you want to find is not known outside English-speaking countries and most sources of information are in languages other than English, how do you look for it? 3. Do you have any tips and tricks on how to look for a lost piece of media to share to a newbie?
Ooh, two questions. Maybe already covered a little, I don't know.
1) How do you feel about the fact that most things here don't actually seem to be lost, but are just not available online? Sometimes it does seem a bit like a "not on YouTube" search engine, especially on the forums, with stuff on animations not repeated and recent BBC shows that are blatantly archived somewhere.
2) At the risk of being a bit controversial: Does the community's particularly high interest in cartoons and animation deter the sort of people that might actually be able to help with actually lost media - people in the know, with access to archives and so on - from participating? I mean Google-fu is great, but it feels like actual new information in most threads is pretty sparse, and when people post about lost music for example, nobody seems to care. Animation and death footage seems to be the two subjects the community focuses on.
