Charlie version of Caillou

Nope! Don't think so, anyway. It's vivid enough that I remember pointing it out to other people in my house at the time, and recalling it to friends.





Well, for starters this was literally Caillou with a simple name-change, not a similarly-named cartoon unrelated to Caillou. Also, it was spelled Charlie, not Charley, like this other cartoon.

Thanks for the feedback so far, but I can confirm this is not something I imagined or am mistaking as anything other than what I said. I think the only additional info I can provide is this aired simultaneously with Caillou, if not on another PBS channel that had a different time-zone. It also may have aired along with those audio-description narrations PBS channels sometimes use.

And to reiterate, this was literally the same show as Caillou, but retitled Charlie. The logo, intro song, and script dialogue all switched Caillou to Charlie, but there weren't differences in design or anything else... At the time, I assumed this was done as a means to localize the kid's uncommon name, but I simply can't find any info on it. I'm certain someone could corroborate this.

Hold up, so there was no difference in terms of character design? There has to be some differences, right? So Charlie was wearing the same clothing like Caillou? All the main characters are human, I'm guessing. I need clarification on this, to be sure if it's true that there are NO differences at all. I found nothing on the internet about it, other than seeing videos like "Caillou rips off Charlie Brown" which is kinda funny because we're talking about Charlie here.

Another thing I am willing to ask, was it your first time seeing Charlie or did you see Charlie air more than once?

Isn't Charley a seal? He has no beak so he can't be a penguin
