At Catholic school, when I was 9 years old, my teacher made the entire class watch 2 episodes of a religious cartoon she found. It was an anthology series, and it was animated in traditional animation. I've been trying to look for it, but I can't seem to find it. I remember some pretty good details.
The first episode I remember is about a baby who gets adopted by a mean old woman, because someone left him at her doorstep. The baby grows up to be a hunchback boy, who is mistreated by the old woman. There was one scene where the boy is delivering something to a man. The boy starts to look away and cry. The man asks,"Why do you look away and cry, my boy?" The boy responds, "Because, I'm hideous." He says he feels this way because the old woman said so. The man starts thinking to himself, "That witch lies." because he believes the boy isn't ugly. There is another scene where the boy is starving, but the old woman yells at him and tells him to leave. I don't remember how it happens, but the boy ends up being handsome, as he no longer has a hunchback. There is a scene where the boy is walking down a road, and two men notice. One of them says something like, "Who is that handsome young man?" That's all I remember from this episode.
The other episode is about a nice old woman, who is constantly working. It shows a montage of her working, with one scene showing her sweeping the ground. One day, she decides to make cupcakes for a festival or something. Later on, she becomes upset because he can't make it to the festival for some reason. A group of angels show up, and carry her away to the festival.
That's all I remember. As far as what the characters looked like, the boy had shoulder length black hair and was dressed in brown clothes. He also had a girly voice (probably because his voice actor was female.) The year I saw it in was 2009, but it looked like a really old show, so I highly doubt it was released at that time. Both episodes had a narrator, though I can't remember if it was a man or woman's voice. The show had an intro, which showed scenes from the episodes flying up the screen. If any one recognizes this show, please leave a comment. Thanks.
