I've seen one article for the Misfits on the Wiki and thought I'd start a discussion about the band as a whole:

I know many diehard fans fantasize about the potential of unreleased music, and yet there are confirmed cases of media that's either lost for good, or simply unable to be released.
Probably most historic is a lost song from their first recording session. Of the three songs recorded, two ended up on their first single in 1977. The third was a track called "Harpies in the Night." When the time came that their discography could be released digitally, the original master tape was lost. The DAT copy used for the boxset only contained the single tracks.
Long rumored, some of the Misfits' earliest live performances from 1977 were captured on cassette by drummer Manny MartÃnez. These were safely digitally transferred but not released. Manny wanted to release these commercially, but it needs to go through the other band members first, where it's currently held up indefinitely.
Another notable lost performance exists from a late 1978 Christmas show. There was a soundboard recording to this show (two identical sets). There was a push to release it as a live album in 1995, but this was struck down by original singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig. The album that was going to be released also had all of its instruments overdubbed and IMO did not reflect the original recording. Bootlegs of the overdubbed show are readily available. One song (unaltered) from the second set exists on some Flipside compilations.
One of the band's most famous shows, Halloween 1979 was recorded on Super 8 film. I've seen some audio recordings, but the video itself remains highly coveted.
Finally, the band recorded a wealth of music videos with only one being completed and distributed "Braineaters." "Skulls" is just one of the videos left on the cutting room floor (filmed in an actual graveyard).
For additional reading, MisfitsCentral is definitely the place to start. They get into all the nitty gritty of specific recording sessions and live shows:
