Ok so, some backstory...
This guy, Whang!, is a YT darling who posts some absolutely brilliant videos which introduced me to Lost Media. It's through his video on Yeah Yeah Beebiss I, as part of his ongoing series "Tales from the Internet", that made me even aware that Lost Media existed and so now I'm hooked and obsessed with Lost Media--especially since I found out a ton of the cartoons I watched religiously as a kid are considered to be "lost" now so I may have some on VHS if I knew how to get at them!
And, finally I know why God gave me OCD hoarding, to archive that which was lost to time... ;_;)
But I digress. In three major videos he's made, Whang! has brought up this: the Most Mysterious Song on the Internet, a nameless post-modern 80's synth explosion where what sounds like some European band attempts to replicate Take On Me but with a darker tone. Here is the song, as far as I know, in it's entirety:
Contrary to what that says, it was never "found", at least not yet. This is a copy of the full version of the song from some hitlist of unknown bands which includes it under the title Blind The Wind. Keep in mind it has been attributed the titles Blind The Wind, Fly Away, Against The Wind and lastly the oldest attributed title Check It In, Check It Out (no I have no idea where they got that) over the twenty-plus years people have been looking for it. It has it's own sub-reddit from what I understand.
I have no idea what the song is or where it comes from, the best guess anyone else has presented is an unknown, possibly dispersed band from Germany given the accents and origin on an indie station in that region of Europe. But Whang! has made several videos and I'm presenting them here, asking if we should add this to the list of Lost Media. This is no "existence unconfirmed" situation, it's certainly real, but no one knows where it's from, who did it, if this is the full version un-edited, or what. So I think it qualifies as Lost Media but I'm asking if anyone else knows, and trying to spread the word.
Here are Whang!'s videos on the subject:
This is guy, Whang!, as I said is kind of what got me into Lost Media and mysterious internet stuff, that and YYBI which I came across through his videos, so I want to also spread the word about his Tales from the Internet video series.
