The 1994 CGI compilation movie The Gate to the Mind's Eye featured the Thomas Dolby song "Nuvogue" set to various pre-existing CGI short films. One of them, according to the film's credits, was "Laser Broadway," allegedly a commercial for Pioneer LaserDisc players (at the end of the segment, a giant LaserDisc is visible rising up from an entertainment center in the background) and the credits section for the segment show footage not shown during the body of the movie (an actual LaserDisc player closing its tray and the LaserDisc logo flying toward the viewer). What really sticks in my mind, however, are the singing and dancing metal birds. The lead bird has been synced so he is singing Dolby's vocals. Our art teacher played these for us while we worked on our projects in 7th grade to "inspire" us, and this was what I remembered most of all years later.

I'll transcribe the credits here:
Animation Produced by:
Links Corporation
Produced and Directed by:
Shoji Iwamari,
Asatsu International Inc.
Technical Director:
Masaaki Taira, Links Corporation
Illustration:
© copyright Hajime Sorayama 1993
From "Laser Broadway",
the commercial film for
compatible Laser Disc Players of
Pioneer Electronic Corporation
I can't find anything relevant googling "Laser Broadway" or "レーザーブロードウェイ" (the same thing transcribed into Japanese). Googling "Shoji Iwamari" as an exact phrase finds nothing. Asatsu International and Links Corporation don't fare much better. Masaaki Taira just gives me a politician. Hajime Sorayama is apparently an artist specializing in highly-detailed erotic illustrations of female robots, which is semi-relevant (he's credited as an illustrator and the birds are robotic, though they're neither female nor erotic). I tried general searches for Japanese Pioneer LaserDisc player commercials, and no dice.
