We moved some things around in the server and archived some channels, here’s the text of the message he sent in Jenkem’s Investigation Central.
“Hello everyone. I keep getting requests for me to bounce the tapes over again which is what I had intended on doing several months back. First to see if there were any more scenes from the Ella Flowers cartoons (there weren't) and also to glean any data from the tapes to put a name to the cartoons (Which everyone has done. ❤️) The remainders of the tapes were as Moria and I described just mixes of other strange things that we would probably find entertaining. There are no more Ella Flowers cartoons on either tape that I have. And if I in the near future happen upon them they will immediately be digitized and put up on my channel or a link in here to them.”
I’m curious if he has any of Ella’s other content that isn’t cartoons, if he ever comes back online I should see if we can ask.
At the very least, has anyone asked him to re-upload those two shorts in full, without the fades?
It's been over a month since the last message but I wanted to clear a couple things up. I'd like to preface this by saying I'm a moderator in the PMC server, and a few people in this thread can vouch for me there. Firstly, Video2Net isn't going to offer us any extra help. We've looked into it in the server and we weren't able to get anything out of it; the livestream files on WINJ's website are inaccessible, and a member of the server had tried contacting the co-owner of Video2Net with no response. I'm not sure we'd be much better off even if we did get a response but one can dream, I suppose. Secondly, uploading a clip without the fades wouldn't provide anything extra to the search seeing as Jenkem added those himself. I guess it would be alright to have but in the grand scheme of things it isn't terribly significant. As it stands, we don't really have anywhere else to go with the search, but if anyone happens to have any other suggestions I'd be glad to hear them.

So, my attitude is, make that record. Paint that painting. You don't have to release it, but if you do, it's a hell of a lot better than knowing what might have been.

In Blameitonjorge’s video regarding the search; he briefly mentioned at the end how the search team was planning on searching through the church that Ella had worked at; to see if anymore episodes were there.

Do you have any updates with that lead?
What became of it since then?
unfortunately, that cannot happen. ella's church was demolished around, IIRC, 2010.

Did they find anymore Columbus Dispatch articles talking about the show?
Or just that one article from 1999?
Just the one that has been found so far. I found an image from the 50's or 60's of the church before Ella owned it, but that won't really help with anything. It's somewhere on the Discord server if you want to see it.
Did anyone eventually track down the cousin who stole the tapes? Where he is?
As far as I know, he is in jail. So it's unlikely anybody will contact them.
They also destroyed the tapes so even if someone did get ahold of them, they probably would not have anything.

Yeah, the cousin is a dead lead. As a side note, we haven't been able to find any archives relating to WINJ and its history, nor have we been able to find an archive for the church, so any leads that could come from that seem to be dead for the time being.

The only possible way forward I guess is to find another person who has the tapes. Maybe putting up posters in Columbus / Ohio for it? And maybe contacting locals who have late 1990s tapes. I know they have done this for radio stations trying to find lost authorships on songs (Johan Lindell - On the roof, TMS) and it lead to success or better leads. Maybe its possible to get the message broadcasted on WGCT (the successor of WINJ) and Columbus radio.
We were going to set up posters in Columbus, actually. A server member had made some and we had people willing to do it but the plan eventually fell through. I personally don't remember why it fell through, but it isn't the worst idea we've had and it could be worth a shot despite some of the issues that may arise from doing it. Would people take the posters seriously? Which contact method do we use? What happens if the posters get taken down?
On your idea of contacting locals, we've already started doing that. We bought over 1000 tapes, as mentioned here before, and some other users have bought tapes from Columbus as well with no luck in terms of finding KFF or any WINJ programming at all.

How did he end up in jail? Is there any news info on it? What's his name? Either way, I would kinda consider it karma for destroying such rare history, even though he was obviously arrested for something else.
I don't think the cousin's name was ever revealed, or at least it wasn't revealed to the Discord server. Probably for his own sake but obviously I can't really be sure. You could probably do some digging and end up finding him but it's not really worth looking into for search-related purposes. If you yourself are curious about him, though, no one can really stop you.

Okay, then, we'll leave it there. I was just wondering.
