Hi I'm new around here but I like to dabble in lost and obscure media. I need a bit of help with something and I was referred to this forum. I'm trying to find an old show I remember watching when i was a kid but I only have a vague description to go on.
It was a live action tv show from (I want to say) the mid 80s. The show was about a scientist guy who had a workshop in what looked like a basement. It was possibly an educational show with comedy elements. I seem to remember he had black hair with a beard and mustache and of course a white lab coat. There were other people in the show too that possibly could have been his neighbors, friends or perhaps assistants.
I only remember a few details from one particular episode. The scientist guy forgot some important information and one of the other characters shrunk down and went into his head to find it. This was portrayed by the guy being blue screened in front of humorous images such as the inside of a car engine. He was then seen in a room full of dusty filing cabinets when he found a note with the information written on it. Then to get out of the scientist guy's head he had to get sneezed out which also brought him back to normal size. He was next seen covered in goop (obviously supposed to be snot) and said something like "Does anybody have a Kleenex?" Then the scientist guy looked at the note and said something like "This is my shopping list."
Sadly that's all I remember. The show seemed kinda weird and I could have sworn it was on Nickelodeon but after looking through lists of their old programs I didn't see anything that sounded like the show I described. At the time I was living in New York so there might be the possibility it was a local show maybe?
This has been bothering me for years so if anybody can tell me what this show was I'd greatly appreciate it.
