For the past hour or so I've been trying to find a couple of books and i think they might qualify as lost media? The books in question are the grey fairy Chronicles Kasta's Rising and The Journey Home both by Vivian LaRue. I can find the first book of the series, Nomi's Quest just fine, and it's even available to read on the neopets website, but there's no trace of the other two books beyond a 2008-2009 release date and supposed isbn numbers for each. ( 0061432180 (ISBN13: 9780061432187) for the journy home and ISBN: 0-06-143216-4 / 978-0-06-143216-3 (USA edition) for kasta's rising) I can't even find cover art for the series. If anyone has any info on these books or even just the author i'd appreciate it since the series sounds just up my alley but i'm not keen on starting the first book if it's just gonna end in a cliff hanger.
I did a little looking around and found two extremely sketchy amazon listings for these books with no pictures for crazy prices (like $700, seriously lol). So I'm getting the vibe they might not exist. Maybe the titles and isbns were created, but the books themselves were never published? Something like a book version of vaporware.
I don't know if that's how books work or not, but some evidence that these books were never released: The Neopets site has a catalogue that was never updated with the 2nd or 3rd book in the Grey Faerie series, or the 3rd book in the Ghoul Catchers (which according to its description on Amazon is also supposed to be a trilogy, but I can't find a third book for it).

I saw the amazon posting and i def was not going to drop 700 dollars on a book. Even the reviews of the Lister were sketchy, most of them being in what i think is french.
As for the isbns, those aren't free and each one is unique so it doesn't make sense to me to get them and take up a number for something that never got finished.
The author might have nearly completed the book or books, only for the company to cancel the series. While the company would lose money due to buying isbns that would go unused, it would lose even more money if it chose to distribute the books when there wasn't enough demand, no matter how far along those books were in development. There are some projects that are almost completed but get canceled because the resources dried up or the series is no longer considered a "money-maker." It really sucks, but that's how a lot of media companies operate. So they may exist as drafts or completed books, but were never actually published.
The author might still have the drafts/completed books, but can't release them due to copyright issues

Yeah, sorry I definitely don't want to discourage further searching, I just want to offer up a possible explanation for why it can't be found. The first does indeed sound cool, and while it probably ends on a cliffhanger it still sounds like a good read to me!
