Recently I remembered watching this film years ago when I was a child in the early 2000s. From what I remember a brother and a sister while poking around in their basement one day discover a secret sub basement underneath it. It turns out to be a starport. After confronting their parents they're told that they've been selected as part of a colonization attempt to colonize either a distant planet or the future I'm not sure which because of an appending disaster about to occur on Earth.
After this there isn't a whole lot I remember, I do have a brief flash of one of the final scenes where the brother finds out a neighbor girls family who he was crushing on was selected too and how relived he was. I'm not even sure if the movie was made in the 2000s. I know that's when I saw it but it could have easily been made in the 80s or 90s. I'm not even sure if it was a movie, it could have been an episode of a TV show for all I know. I've spent the past two weeks searching around on the internet, asking people I know but have come up empty handed. I thought it may have been an episode of Beyond Fact and Fiction but after a marathon nothing came of it. I also found The Last Mimzy but that wasn't it either.
If this rings a bell to anybody I would appreciate the help. This has been bugging me for the past few months and it's probably not going to leave me alone until I get to the bottom of this.

Honestly, I recall this but I have no idea of the title...damn it...
It was on Disney Channel, yes? Because if so, then this may have been a pilot for something, I don't know why but I have this feeling it became a series or sequels were made. Again if this is the one I'm remembering, from the Disney Channel.
I'm going to ask around to see what this was, cause now I'm curious too!

My memory isn't that great of DCOMs, but was it Can of Worms?

You know, my memory is not the greatest, I'm not sure if it aired on Disney but Can of Worms sounds promising. I don't think what I saw was a comedy but I'll definitely check it out so I can cross it off the list.
Alright you can cross Can of Worms off the list. That wasn't it at all. There definitely weren't any puppets from what I remember.
So like, tell me if this sounds familiar...I have this image in my head but I can't recall the title to save my life...
The ending involves the two teenagers, a brother and sister, being told about this program and how they were going to like seed some other world and possibly colonize it. They end up discovering that the planet is called EARTH and they were being trained to pretend to be human liken to pod people.
That or, at the end, they're standing there looking kind of beleaguered at one another in white jump suits.
Or both, the memories kind of overlap. Does that sound familiar?

That sounds vaguely familiar. Them being in white jumpsuits seems correct though them being sent to Earth just doesn't seem right. Everything I remember has them in a stereotypical American suburban house with the exception being the spaceport in the basement. As for the ending a distinctly remember the boy on a ship, think the PanAm flight from 2001: A Space Odyssey and he sees the neighbor girl he was crushing in a seat a few rows back, he goes over to her her and she explains that her family was also selected. The Goosebumps episode you linked was also a dead end.
Ok wow, that is precisely what I was seeing in my memory. It was like the boy and the girl, chatting wearily about what all had happened, standing in this almost kind of white void but I thought but yeah, in retrospect, it was probably some kind of 2001: A Space Odyssey kind of thing and they were wearing white jumpsuits...
And I'm literally punching myself right now because I couldn't recall the title if you were holding a gun to my head.
My best guess would be it was an episode of an anthology series from the 80s or 90s, likely from the 90s, which was reshown on like Disney Channel. I keep remembering the Disney Channel. It may have been Nightmare Room, which was I think going over into the 2000s, so it may have been that.
Looking over the episode list for The Nightmare Room none of the episode synopses sound even close to what we're looking for with the possible exception of episode 8 "Four Eyes" but it looks tangential at best. While you were explaining the jumpsuits on the ship that also sounds incredibly familiar and superimposing them onto the scene I remember from the ship feels incredibly right. This just solidifies that what I saw was real and not my imagination which is a huge relief.

Hey it's been like forever, but I think I have a possible candidate...or just let me know if you figured it out since then because I'm dying to know...
Anyway is it's "The Tale of the Thirteenth Floor" on Are You Afraid Of The Dark?
Holy crap, that was it! You don't know how much it means to me. I've been looking for it for years. How did you even find it?
Hey don't that me bruh, you gotta go to Tip of My Tongue (TOMT) whenever you're looking for something, 90% of the time you get an answer within twenty four hours. I've seen things so obscure that it was a one sentence description and they found it within a week at most, sometimes within a day. Link
