Despite being a ratings success, WWPV never received a home release, whether on VHS or DVD. Thus, the only way to watch it is purchasing the 2012 season on iTunes or catching the show on YouTube before copyright laws take over.
I managed to find a DVD listing on this Pakistani video store. Seasons 1 and 2 are available. Unfortunately, shipping is outrageously expensive. $20 for a DVD doesn't seem too bad until you discover the total price comes to $105. $85 in shipping? No thanks.
I also managed to discover a "book" about the show on Wal-Mart's website. The catch here is that no information is provided other than the page count and authors.
I'm still categorizing my post as lost media because I am not 100% sure about the legitimacy of said products. I've heard good things about DVD Planet Store, but Wal-Mart may be a little suspect.
I noticed that the show was taken down from YouTube, so over the last couple months, I've been archiving anything I could find of the show. I've actually found out a lot about the show, including specials related to the series that I've never heard of before.
Apparently, the first three "World's Scariest Police Chases" specials were released on VHS in the late 90's, which includes extra scenes that weren't aired on FOX. As of August 7th, I've found the majority of the series and specials, from other archived uploads, to near dead torrents, and questionable websites. It's been a hectic time finding them, but I'm happy to be able to finally share them.
Down below is both the list of episodes and specials I've archived, and also the folders to them on my Google Drive account. Feel free to download and share; I'm more than happy for anyone else to archive the series and make it easier for others to watch
I actually used to record this show a lot, and have found some of it while digitizing tapes recently. I'll have to check to see if the video files are still on my computer. If not, I can try to find them again. However, my VCR has been giving me trouble lately so that would have to be sorted out before I could digitize the videos over.
Here is a description of seasons 1 and 2 www.cs.cmu.edu/~aarong/from-andrew/fox/titles/wildest2.html Seeing as how it is owned by fox (and thus disney) I would not expect a disney + release. However, I believe this footage is out there in other ways, even if it is not explicitly listed as WWPV. Most of that was cheap compilations footage from local news broadcasts or public record requests. Legally, they didn't even own a lot of that, they just paid royalties on it.
Quick edit, they didn't have to pay royalties on a lot of that footage. Police videos of crimes that are used as evidence in court are generally (unless they are made for training purposes or public relations, such as recruitment videos) not subject to copyright. In other words, if you can FOIA it, it is generally not under copyright with some exceptions.

Actually, a lot of websites contain footage featured on this show, such as Conus or Footage.net. They'll give you all the source information they have for a fee. The footage is used in other TV shows too, like Disorderly Conduct or Most Shocking.
However, a lot of the stories were sourced straight from the police departments, so they're either return to their agencies or in deep storage. I actually tried talking to one of the former producers behind the show about a certain case. Unfortunately, he didn't have access to any tapes or files, and there was no way he was gonna take requests, especially in these pandemic-fueled times.
For now, I'm happy with this list of episodes. Good thing we don't have to pay $100 for a couple seasons, and I hope the missing episodes will show themselves one day.

it's a shame it didn't have home video release despite the television program being a success in ratings upon it's original broadcasts.
standalone and scattered clips did exist on YouTube before they were removed sometime in 2008 or 2011 due to being unlisted, copyright or the channel being terminated. Peer-to-peer networks did have full episodes of the show before they were removed.
Hey everyone, here's a pleasant surprise that I just found out about recently (around my 30th Birthday no less). It turns out that Filmrise had recently bought the rights to the entire series earlier this year, and has made it available on both their app, and on AppleTV (iTunes as well). Similar to other show that Filmrise tends to make available, they've also started to upload full episodes onto their Filmrise True Crime YouTube channel (the entire first season is on their YouTube page right now). With their app/AppleTV app, this seems to include some of the additional specials associated with the show, including a few that we either didn't have, or I didn't even know existed until now. Enjoy! 🙂
