Almost 20 years ago, there was a ska band in my state called "Button Hooked". They were a small band that played and wrote music in the ska genre. I was too young to even know them by the time they broke up in 2003, but I discovered them recently. I think their songs are pretty good and I want to find their full album. The problem is, being an obscure band from 2003, I can't find it anywhere.
I found an old MySpace page featuring their album that supposedly played their songs at one point. However, when I press play, nothing happens.
There's a Youtube channel that has uploaded recordings of the band's final performance playing some of their songs. The owner of the channel seems to be a former band member. It's also good to note that in the videos the band plays some songs that aren't seen on their album on MySpace.
One of Button Hooked's songs, "Emo Gold" is partially found as it was used in this video. The band is mentioned in the description but only part of the song is used, as the MySpace page listing says the song is 3 minutes 27 seconds long, but the following video is only a minute and a half long.
If anyone can help me find the album that would be great. From what I've heard of their songs, I really like them and want to hear more and it's cool to me that they're local. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.
I just reached out via e-mail and Instagram to the guy who uploaded those live clips, as he had his website (with his e-mail) and IG linked on the channel. Will let you know if or when I hear anything! Commenting this in the meantime so nobody else does the same and he doesn't get flooded with messages or something.

You're welcome! As I hadn't heard back from him and he did have a phone number on his website listed as the top way of contacting him, I just left him a polite voicemail as well. Felt kind of weird doing it but, hey, it's out there in public, so.
Past that since I've now messaged him via IG, e-mail, and a voicemail, I won't try again to contact him (unless we go like months and months with nothing new in which case maybe I'll try some other social media profile he's got linked) so I'm not badgering him.
Contact the band members. Most will willingly send you the tracks. Obscure bands enjoy spreading their music especially if they were short lived and from long ago.
Hey! Apparently after I left him a message, Ryan DID e-mail me back. I forgot which e-mail address I used and it's one I don't check as much, so I only just saw it. He seems stoked that someone's interested in it and says that he doesn't have the tracks digitally, he used to have them on an iPod but it was stolen a few months ago, but that he DOES have an original CD of it and he'll work on finding a way to rip it! He seems to think it's cool that people are digging for media on this site and says he has friends who do the same, haha.
He sent me that message 9 days ago and I unfortunately only just saw it. I'll keep you posted!
No response yet from my last e-mail to Ryan on the 7th (19 days ago), but that was also like 9 days after he messaged me, so can't blame him. I'll follow up with another e-mail soon if I don't hear from him again; failing that, we can try Rob!
Alright. In your last e-mail, did you ask him how the songs will be published once he digitizes them? If you didn't, ask him in your next e-mail. If we don't hear back from him in 2 weeks, we should try e-mailing him again.
Been a month with no word so I'll hit him up again via e-mail, and also via Instagram if he did open my last message there (which was sent whenever I e-maile him the first time.) I'll include your question in that. I definitely wanna help you track this one down!, and he did seem interested.
If we don't get a response to this one in a couple days we can try Rob and if that also fails I'll call Ryan again -- he did seem enthused in his first reply to me, so I imagine he just missed my reply to him (which is fair: I missed his reply to ME after being the one to reach out) or forgot about it or something.
I think Ryan is willing to communicate with us, we just need to get the timing right. Be sure to keep a close eye on all your e-mails and we should be good. Thanx

Nope, been checking every couple days at least and nothing back yet.
We're also in the midst of a global pandemic and national emergency now, so... not sure if it is the best or most considerate move to bother trying to call him again, given the circumstances...? I would try otherwise.
If you got contact info on Rob, could try him first, then go back to Ryan down the line if the Rob lead fails.
