some of the lost media like Clockman, Bow Ed Over (ed,edd and eddy game) and Cracks (short from sesame street) I really loved lost media since like 2019? i still love it to this day!
The JBVO DBZ episode. I saw it when it aired as a kid, and it blew my mind when I realized it couldn't be located anywhere. Also messed with me when there was that short period where people were unsure of it's existence because I remembered it so well. I'm glad proof was found because that would have driven me crazy, but I hope it resurfaces at some point.

I don't think it was any one thing that really sparked my interest in lost media, but rather the alignment of a lot of hobbies and interests that brought me here.
I've always been a sucker for a good mystery, fictional or otherwise. My father was also very in to relatively obscure stuff, so I would hear a great deal about films like Strange Brew or about Earthbound before it really blew up in cult status. My general interest in the internet grew out of a desire for community and a love for earlier internet in general (which was a lot more niche in the kinds of circles you could find, in my opinion.) All of this compounded into getting into ARGs and creepypastas that eventually led me into stories about the kinds of obscure topics my dad got me interested into at a young age.
I will say, the first pieces of lost media that likely affected me the most were A Day With Spongebob, the SNES Satellaview games, and Inside Jimmy's Head. (ADWS for the hunt, Satellaview due to my love for the SNES, and IJH because it is I show I clearly remember seeing on and there is something so surreal about a show so recent being unobtainable.)
Mainly YouTube channels. A few come to mind, but BlameItOnJorge was a big one.I remember being weirdly obsessed with "Lost Episode" Creepypastas back in the day, and Lost Media offered a chance at something similar that was actually real -- and less silly, to be quite honest. I remember browsing lost media sites a while before discovering any of the YouTube stuff, fueled by the same curiosity. However, Jorge's documentaries on things like A Day with SpongeBob SquarePants and Clockman are sort of what introduced me to the actual Lost Media community.
It was Blameitonjorge for me too. It made me really interested in obscure media as well, and I’m starting a small collection of barely known self-released music and a few books. I’d love to find a self-released movie, but I haven’t stumbled across any yet.
Hoarding obscure self-published music on the off chance someone misses it.

Yeah Yeah Beebiss I.
I first saw this on a twitter post, someone made an offhanded remark comparing...certain political assumptions made about a Supreme Court nominee...to physical evidence that YYBI exists. I asked what Yeah Yeah Beebiss I was...the floodgates opened and I felt like Indy standing there in front of some old Templar and a golden cup.
Apparently I chose wisely, because it's been a blast. XD
I first became aware of the concept of lost media by, like many, watching YouTube videos on the subject - mostly blameitonjorge's. However, I'd gone on a few personal quests for lost media beforehand. One in particular was a - quite frankly very corny - '70s variety show called Once Upon a Tour. My interest in it was due to its featuring the singer Oliver whom I'd recently become a fan of. It was nowhere to be found on the internet and though it had once been released on VHS, copies were nonexistent. Ultimately I just happened to come across someone selling a DVD-R of the special on the now-defunct iOffer and have since made it available on the Internet Archive. To this day, though, I've never seen an actual VHS copy of it for sale anywhere.
Lost media is a fascinating subject, especially because it involves such a broad range of topics. There's something for everyone.
My first encounter with the lost media forums and this wiki is blameitongorge and I thought nothing of it. Once I found that an artist I frequently listen to had lost songs, that was my first hands experience with lost media. I did end up getting the songs. A few months later I decided to go to the lost media wiki and found it interesting enough to join.
