Yesterday, I found a set of images that are snapshots of a book that Jim Henson Company gave Disney when buying The Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House franchises.

One of these developments listed that was ported over to Disney was called "Bear's Big Movie". I had heard that it was in development via the show's Wikipedia page (it says in the portal for the reason for the cancellation of the show: "A planned film version of Bear was also put on hold"), but nothing ever came of the film.
From the evidence, I've gathered, I can guess that the film was in development with The Jim Henson Company starting around 2000 or 2001, but they possibly wanted to finish Season 4 first (which ended up airing in 2002 and 2003, due to production delays and 9/11). Once Lynne Thigpen (the voice of Luna) passed away in March 2003, development of the film was halted since it was now too sad for the cast & crew (According to Tara Mooney, the voice of Shadow). The Walt Disney Company bought the franchise in April 2004, they of course got the rights to the script and any elements relating to the unproduced film.
In this article from January 2007, it says Disney had big plans for the 10th anniversary of the show (including new merchandise, syndication, new DVDs, a new album, a new stage show, etc.). None of those plans ever came to be however. It does say that Disney was "seriously considering" a feature film for the franchise, but obviously nothing ever came to be.

I think we need to find some raw material for the film, like a script and other things. Disney would be kinda tricky to work with, however.
I also think it'd be cool to see what film studio The Jim Henson Company was planning on making the film with (if they even made a deal yet).
Who's with me?
