Grand Theft Auto 64 was a planned port of the original GTA game to the Nintendo 64. I do not agree with the article on the wiki as if it was shown at E3 of 1999, there is bound to be footage of it somewhere. I also have issues with the Spanish magazine screenshots as we don't even know if that is screenshots from the PC or PS1version. Also, the magazine could have been from a few months before E3 and was saying that they had plans to unveil GTA 64 at E3.The last thing that makes this game more mysterious is that the only confirmation we have of its existence is through an IGN article. Rockstar has remained tight-lipped about this port.
I'm not a Spanish speaker, so I can't say for sure that the Spanish gaming magazine article talking about it is legit. However, I also have the same doubts that the three screenshots featured in the article are not from the so-called Nintendo 64 port of the first game in the series for these reasons:
*The first screenshot in the article looks obviously in 2D (I have never played any Grand Theft Auto game in my life, so I can't be sure that any game in the series was in 2D except for maybe handheld ports), unlike the Nintendo 64 which had strict 3D graphics that allowed for no 2D animations.
*The second and third screenshots in the article are almost identical to each other; they're basically zoomed out shots of the city with some hints of 3D graphics.
I also couldn't find any proof that the port was actually shown at E3 1999 or was just abruptly cancelled before being shown at the event, outside of IGN's page on the game (which falls on the latter category). If Rockstar Games' goal was to make everyone forget that this port did ever exist, they did a great job at hiding it because there is little to no information on this game on the internet and no footage of it confirmed to be legit (I don't embrace this conspiracy theory myself, but I'm just stating how impossible it is to find real information on the port).
Despite the frustrations of normal day life we go through, the best thing to do about it is still being happy for our friends and family.

The first two games were 2D, but there are two accounts of GTA 64.
1. The port was going to have more enhanced graphics that would have had the cars look more 3D than the PS1 and PC versions
2. The port was going to an open sandbox game and was going to be for the N64 DD.
I made translations of the spanish magazines, it´s not perfect, but it's understandable
It makes mention of the "Dolphin". Dolphin was the early development name for the GameCube and the Dolphin used cartridges. So I am wondering if GTA 64 was originally meant for the Nintendo Dolphin before the Nintendo Dolphin became disc-based and before the fallout between Rockstar and Nintendo? The translated article also says "We will go into details about GTA 64 the next month" so is there a chance at it was 50% complete and was planned to debut at E3 1999? I still do not buy that is was ever shown at E3 1999 as many people would have remembered. Maybe the magazine just got its information wrong.

I'm wondering whether this was just a case of something being leaked too early on, since it's not uncommon for leaks to flat out get things wrong.

That is a fake trailer. The footage is from a game called Crimelife 3.
In addition to the trailer being fake, Crimelife 3 is a downloadable GTA clone that can be downloaded for free on the internet and obviously has nothing to do with the Nintendo 64 version of the game. Even if the trailer was legit, it would be mindboggling if gaming sites like IGN wouldn't even include this "trailer" on their homepage for the game. To quote a YouTube commenter on the video cryptic vibes: "This is literally just footage of the game Crimelife 3. Google it. It's a really good GTA clone that was made with Gamemaker (which is quite impressive, Gamemaker's 3D capabilities are limited). It's a free download online."
I didn't even believe for a second that "trailer" was real.

Yes, no "real" media has been shown for GTA 64. I do not even think those screeenshots from the magazine are even from the N64 port.

I'm not so familiar with GTA as a whole, but I'm thinking that, if it was in any way associated with the N64 port, it was probably concept art or mock ups.
