I'm happy to announce that I have obtained and ripped a Pokémon PC Master CD-ROM!
Unfortunately, I was disappointed to discover that it's merely a trial version. It looks like only the trial version was released via physical disc, while the full version was downloaded. Given the rarity, I also suspect it was mainly distributed through public schools rather than a general retail release.

We know it's been a while, but I think it'd be interesting to open this search back up. See if any new info has surfaced and such. Might make a new thread on this later. ~Jacob

I just tried to play it yesterday on Windows 10, did not work. Does anyone think it's possible to update the game for newer Windows versions, idk how to or what to do.
I still have a Windows XP machine I use in cases where the compatibility mode fails under Win10. I'll download the ISO and see what happens...
Nope. I get an Installshield 1152 error. I can read the files just fine and even watch the video, just can't install it.
It’s probably due to language. If Japanese is not up properly (especially in this case, because typing is part of it) it will probably refuse to install.

The Japanese text displays fine in the software I was using, either Windows XP or one of my disc burning programs. A 1152 error seems to be a temp folder problem. I'll have to look into it. The video looked interesting if nothing else. The program itself doesn't display the Japanese language on the buttons you have to press but the info files display perfectly. I could probably save them or else print them out. The order of which buttons to press is actually made easy by the program itself, as it highlights those. Since this is made for a very young player, I could see them doing that. I tried burning the file to a CD and then running that or else using a Virtual Drive and running it that way and ran into the 1152 error both ways. I'll have to try it again tonight after work...
The newest it specifically mentions is XP, but that’s because XP was the latest there was when the game came out, not because it won’t run on anything later.

oh so that means i cant run it on 7 or 10, right?
Not necessarily. Software compatibility has to be handled on a case by case basis. There is usually some way to run older software on a newer machine, but sometimes it’s harder than others.
