Ok so I did some diging on the internet and found a couple of things. There seems to be at some point in time a download link too the show, it was "King Koopas Kool Kartoons us ripdiv" also a long one that went something like "King Koopas Kool Kartoons Christopher Collins 1989" but they are both dead ends
Also it seems like there might of been more videos of this show on youtube back in 1996 but they where copyright claimed. Also I found no proof on why the show was canceled. The show only aired in the fall at the time so I assume it just ran its course as most shows don't make it after the fall session. Also the shows spelt "KKKK" so that probably pissed off some parents.
Some bits and bobs around the net, an news story from the LA Times mentioning the show nominated for an Emmy
"Paralleling the rise of Fox Broadcasting as a contender in the realm of prime-time programming, KTTV Channel 11, Fox’s local station, received 20 nominations, nine more than last year. KTTV’s news and special broadcast teams were nominated three times for best news reporting, and in categories from best health and science/environment program (for “Dying to Live”) to best children/youth program (for “King Koopa’s Kool Kartoons”)."
Ok great. I'll try that tomorrow after work and I'll get some screen grabs/video as well.
If you can TPB magic dvd ripper or Nero it might still play. Or if the DVD is from 10 years ago it could be that your burner didn’t complete the burn all the way. Had that happen tons of times in 2008 where it would say “progress 100%” so i took it out and lost around the last 6-8 minutes of shows and movies because i didnt let the “progress 100% “ disappear first
I didnt burn the disc, I received this in a trade 7-8 years ago. I dont have the time to mess around with the disc so if somebody wants it DM me.
Hey, Paisanos! I made this account just to reply to this thread. When I was 4-5 my family was living in Germany. My grandma at the time would record a bunch of Club Mario on VHS and ship them to me (along with other American cartoons from that time). I asked my mom yesterday if she still had the tapes and she said that she found a VHS tape with my grandma's handwriting that just says "Mario". She's going to ship it to me tomorrow. I'll grab a VHS player this weekend and if the tape has a considerable amount of Club Mario I'll capture it to my PC and upload it. If there's anything in specific that people are looking for I can try to find it. I don't remember ever seeing the Koopa's Kool Kartoons unfortunately.
The tape is here! I will probably go get a VCR player today or tomorrow. I'll need a decent tape -> PC converter. I'm not sure which ones are best. A lot of the ones I see on Amazon have sync issues and whatnot. I'll keep looking and try to get one asap
Burn it to DVD-r and then rip it onto your computer. You can get a VHS to DVD unit for about $60 bucks nowadays. Don't mess with those VHS capture cards they're garbage, all of them. Also a vhs to dvd recorder will produce the best quality and a direct copy. Those vcr to pc devices cause timing issues, skips, pauses, etc. excuse my French but they are shit. I use a Magnavox MDR161V model and it works perfectly and has so for the past 8 years!
And side note: nobody has hit me up yet, the offer still stands if you want my club Mario disc.
Thanks videoranger007, I might do that. I tried to find a VCR over the weekend but even thrift stores did not have them. They're going for about 90+ bucks on Amazon brand new. I'll see if I can the combo unit. It'd be nice to not have to tie my computer up for hours while it records.
And yes, you're right. The capture devices are shit. I had several Dazzles back in the day and always had issues. I looked at 10-15 different ones on Amazon and couldn't find any that didn't have concerning reviews. I'll update this thread if I can get my hands on a combo unit.
So i've been speaking with some old television & film guys. They recommended looking into the Television Almanac for more info on the "koopa kartoons" So i was able to find a catalogue online of the almanacs, but i cant for the life of me find a record of "king koopas kool kartoons". If you guys want to take a look at the books please do. This would be a good resource to save for other hunts aswell.
