Alright guys sorry to revive a dead thread, but I remembered some more details about this book. And I want to try and organize what I already remember, better. Heres what I know about this strange book, two years later I still can't figure out what it was lol...
1. It was a children's picture book I had in the early 2000s and it had already been kicking around for awhile in the home, so it was most definitely older than 2000.
2. The story took place primarily at night and starred anthropomorphic animals in a forest.
3. The main character was a yellow, slender, Jackrabbit with long ears, cartoonishly big teeth, big eyes, and those pupils that look like solid black Pacman characters almost lol. (that used to be a style I think?)
4. The book had one large landscape-ish picture on top, and words on the bottom.
5. The art style was really unique. The rabbit had rather sharp-looking edges on his fur. And possibly a rather thick black outline.
6. The pages were laminated paper.
7. The plot of the story revolved around the rabbit being mischevious and tricking his other animal friends into following the stream/reflection of the moon upriver.
8. When his friends caught him laughing about the prank he pulled behind a bush, they conspired to pull a prank on him back.
9. The used the reflection in the water against him and made him think a tasty looking carrot was in the stream, causing him to jump in and get wet.
10. (New) The very last page of the story showed the yellow jackrabbit sitting in the water at a semi front view, with his side partially exposed allowing behind him to be seen. You could see the bends in his legs in the water as he looked on forward realizing he got what he deserved, the other characters could be seen from the grassy shore behind him, laughing.
11. (New) The one character was a turtle. (I think)
12. It was not "Moon In The Millpond". Unless someone did a bizarre radical retelling of the story the descriptions don't match at all.
13. The cover showed the characters at the bottom left-hand side looking towards the top right-hand side at the river, which had a reflection of the moon above. (Still not 100% sure about this exact design, and still unable to place where the title would be.)
Hopefully, this organizes things a bit better and might spark people's memories a little better. Thanks for all your help guys!
