Is there anything from a piece of media that you didn't realise when you first saw/heard it but later found out about? This could be any media like TV shows, movies, games, YouTube videos, audio etc...

I am sure I have others, but I can only think of one off the top of my head. It is about Madeline. I was 5-6 when this animated TV series first aired in the 1993-94.

I liked watching it then. I didn't know at the time it was based on a book originally published in 1939, nor did I know for years that the main character Madeline wasn't actually French but she was American and her surname was Fogg as I don't think that was mentioned in the TV series.

For a long time I thought the song "Sit Down" was sang by The Proclaimers as I had only heard the song on the radio at that point and didn't recall anyone on the radio saying who was singing the song. I only found out a long time later it was James who released the song, not The Proclaimers.

I actually used to think the Chief Blue Meanie from Yellow Submarine was a woman for a good while when I was younger before having others tell me that it was a guy. He just has that chaotic girlboss energy to me.
