I want to share a story: there’s a regular substitute teacher at my school that just exudes positivity. Like he has a better attitude than half of the permanent staff. Despite being 80, he was actually very spry, and while technically slow, he can still keep up with the kids from the special needs class. Unfortunately, he got pneumonia last winter and had to have surgery to clear his lungs. Somehow that made him unable to walk and he had to go to physical therapy. Anyways, right before school got out he came back to our school. He went to the special needs class and several of the kids did a double take. One kid who normally doesn’t talk unless answering a question waved and said “hi!”. It’s probably one of those things you kind of had to have been there, but I still wanted to share.

I'm going to a convention next weekend! super excited
