In the downloadable xsand game, it appears there are "physics packs" that were downloadable before a site went down. I'll see if archive.org has anything a bit later.

Wow, I had no idea this thing was missing. I loved this thing (yes, this exact version). There's still a link to it on Andkon Arcade, thought I don't know whether it's down or you need an outdated flash to play it.
Like you said about the many iterations of this game concept, there was also a simplified version for the IPhone called "RGB" in 2007 (standing for Red, Green, Blue, the three elements available). I wonder what the first iteration was?

The wikipedia page, which was purged ages ago and lost most of it's information (so who knows how accurate the following is) states that a Japanese site uploaded the first falling sand physics game. I believe this copy may be fully lost.
Also, glad that I could find it for someone else. Can you send the link to Anklodn? I could be able to recover xsand and etch-a-sand.
(Format broke) The one on Andkon.com appears to just be the basic falling sand game, and not the full set, mislabeled under "quick sand pyro". Thanks though.
