Probably not. It's usually only California that gets the cool imported stuff.
I don't know if I'd go that far. I've seen imports in a few game shops here in Phoenix. In fact, there's an antique mall within walking distance of my house I visited on Sunday that had some. I didn't see anything I wanted (mostly PS1 and Super Famicom shovelware), but the point stands.
Meh, if it's used game stores it just depends on what people bring in. I live in TX and I've been to a few used-whatever stores that have Japanese games and manga. California definitely gets all the cool events though, there must be a huge concentration of otakus there or something.

California is the most populous & most diverse US state. Long Beach, California in particular is kind of an Asiantown so to speak.

Definitely not. I own Magic Pengel, it was too late of a release, and it was definitely not a PS2 game.
I would've played this in 2001 at the absolute latest, it was during that transitional period between the generations.
It definitely wasn't an Animorphs game, either. I'm familiar with the franchise, and this one didn't have real animals (at least not in the part I played).
