Nobody gives a flying fuck about the Bulgarian dub of the Backyardagins or whatever the fuck it is aside from you and probably one other idiot from the other side of the globe.
Almost dub articles are written badly, coded badly, tagged badly, and if you write theme, you should feel just as badly.
People don't donate to this wiki just so fucks like who you're defending can write their shitty articles and waste bandwidth.
Either accept that some media is too obscure to be found, you have far too niche taste, and that nobody cares about your shitty dub of some 2000s cartoon from some ex soviet state, and maybe get involved in searching for a real piece of lost media, or else feel free to get the fuck off this forum
And you still insisted on finding frickin ENGLISH dub of that "Clockman" short... LMW is not just about Anglo-American shit, get over it.
I have a feeling this thread should be locked before it turns into an ugly, mean-spirited flame war between people who support dub articles on the wiki and people who don't, plus the creator of this thread deleted some of his original comments on the thread. All of this is a misinterpretation of what Randy (dubbed with SpooferJahk's voice) actually said about the Albanian dub of SpongeBob SquarePants is that only season 8 of the show was dubbed, no notable Albanian voice actors were cast, and most notably, the show wasn't popular with Albanian TV audience and the dub was never actually lost (though he doesn't mention in the video that the whole "search" for it was started by a user on the old Shoutbox repeatedly spamming about it and his "findings" on the dub, leading to other users "joining" it to just mock the user in question).

Despite the frustrations of normal day life we go through, the best thing to do about it is still being happy for our friends and family.

I agree here. Let's just lock this thread. I thought the wiki had a standard by which we determined which articles were allowed: notability.

To use this as an example, Clock Man was something no one was sure even existed, but several different sources could attest to. It allegedly aired as part of a well-known series (which itself is mostly lost). It also had a creepy vibe to it, which drew people towards it. The only thing Clock Man lacked was notability, but that was primarily because, like YYB1, nobody knew for sure what exactly it was. We insisted on finding the English version because it was the source of the Clock Man mystery, not the original Czech version.

I actually do think that English dubs of non-English materials shouldn't automatically be eligible for articles, since, even though the Wiki is written in English, it's on the internet and the internet is capable of automatically translating text, so it's not just the English speaking world that can read articles. I think English dubs should only get articles if it's the original language of the material, if there is something significant about that English dub, or if there is something substantially different between the original and English dub, just like any other language. (I myself am a native English speaker and am by no means fluent in any other language.) That said, finding the English dub to the Clockman short WAS important. First of all, people like Commander Santa watching the short on Pinwheel was how this all started in the first place, and they were watching the English dub, so the dub is significant in that respect. And second, if you compare the Czech and English dubs, you'll see that the content is somewhat different, with the English dub pushing the short's message of honesty quite a bit more.
Here is the thing about "importance" on the Wiki: it is not about what is personally important, it is about what is CULTURALLY important, and the two can exist without the other. A word-for-word translation of a piece of media isn't necessarily going to have an impact on culture. I'm sure there are plenty of culturally significant pieces of media that no one on the Wiki personally cares about, but that doesn't mean we can't document it at the very least. Heck, I've written five articles and three of them are on things that I do not particularly care about being found (and probably wouldn't watch it in any case), but they still have some significance to culture. The Wiki does need to make that distinction, and this is where the higher ups decided it should be.
Here is my input on dubs. There will always be a fanbase for them, but on the flipside are there people on the wiki who will go out of there way to find a dub of some random show that no one has ever heard of? Let's say there is a person who is from Bulgaria and there was a Greek cartoon that was dubbed into Bulgarian but never dubbed into English. As long as a Bulgarian user comes here and wants to write about it, then I say it is fine as it shows us media from other countries.

I think you meant “almost all” and “them.” This logic doesn’t make any sense imo since all of Lost Media Wiki is stuff most people would consider crap, but I do understand there’s a cutoff.
