Not necessarily media or even lost media related, but micronations are near impossible to find information for. It is possible to find objects from micronations dating back to the late 19th century, but most of the time, nothing will have ever been written about these micronations, their creators, or history. They are often refered to as "phantom nations". There are a near infinite number of them. A stamp collector called James Czyl collected a lot of stamps from these micronations, and used to write an column about them, but that was mostly dedicated to the stamps, rather than the countries. Most of these micronations or phantom nations are only known to exist because of both the stamps and Czyl's writings. I found a French website that has nearly 2000 of these phantom nations listed, but the site hasn't been updated since 2003! I have even come across people talking about their own micronations on forums and other sites, and those are the only mentions of these micronations anywhere, and no, I don't mean some teenagers having a laugh, I mean real micronations with genuine structures and claims to land (although, obviously unrecognised) that produced and sold souvenirs.
