Kind of on topic, funny enough, I DID have a period (think upper elementary) when I suddenly became super invested in "plot driven shows" like Digimon and agreed with my National Geographic for Kids magazine touting the "more superior complex plots" of anime; "try to compare that to the 'plot' of a Bugs Bunny cartoon" (snort). So I actually didn't watch Warner Brothers/Hanna Barbera products for a long while, and may have been downright antagonistic toward them, including yes, Looney Tunes. I mellowed out later and could appreciate them again, like when I did on a Saturday morning in the 90s.

I suppose it depends on what version you're talking about, the original I can't say much for as while I did watch them as a kid I don't particularly remember enjoying them to the point where I loved them, I just liked them at that was it.
Now if you're talking about say The Looney Tunes Show then I have to say that it's arguably better because of the plot of some of the episodes as well as the pretty great writing, it was good then and looking back it still is.
