I seen some of it and while I'm not the main audience of Spongebob anymore, I thought it looked just lazy and awful.
It was actually pretty good IMO, I actually liked it better then Sponge Out of Water personally(which had too many weird out of place live-action scenes, not to mention that stupid forced tie-in flashback to that mediocre Kamp Koral spin-off that nobody was asking for). It was cool to finally get to meet Sandy's family and they do expand her character somewhat and Wanda Sykes makes for a pretty fun and interesting villain(though her assistants don't leave a big impression)and there were pretty funny moments(I.E. Squidward starting a musical number only for Sue Nami to put a glass over him to shut him up).
i don't think it looked "lazy" at all, it actually looked pretty impressive for 60 million dollars(especially the tornado scenes).
The whole thing is on wcostream if anyone wants to see it.

I think the film you were talking about that had those forced live action scenes is Sponge on the run, rather than Sponge out of water.
Very good quality as the film got leaked due to Pipeline Entertainment accidentally leaving their entire file server open so anyone could just go in and grab the film. It looks the same as it would on Netflix basically.

Whoops yeah my mistake LOL
So anyways, is it like a complete movie, or like a workprint or something? From what I’ve seen it appears to be a finished cut, but for all we know, there might be at least a few differences from the cut we currently have to the one that gets officially released on netflix.
It’s probably for the best that we keep hold of these early leaks just in case.

So basically the V-Tech hack but movies got it.
Yea it feels like a major spoiler when a movie gets leaked before it’s released kinda removes the fun from it.

To be fair most people either weren't aware of this film's existence or had long forgotten it's announcement before the leak, this is probably the most publicity this film has ever gotten and I wouldn't be surprised if this actually helps the film's popularity.

Yeah the only reason I even knew about this movie was because it was VERY briefly mentioned in a video from the Alpha Jay show or Saberspark, I don't recall which. Part of me feels a bit sad that overall traditional advertising and "hype building" isn't as much a thing anymore-I still remember the coming buzz over the first Spongebob movie built up from 2002-2004 (TV spots, magazines, early internet hype, etc.) and all the fun that came with the teases and speculation.
