The Pledge of Allegiance being used in American schools started in 1892. However, that version was secular. The "one nation under God" version started in 1954.

"You Are My Sunshine", a song commonly taught to kids was released in 1939 and you can find original recordings of it on YouTube. Similar with "This Land is Your Land" being from 1945. It often feels like these songs are a lot older due to them being taught in schools and along side other songs like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" from 1806. I remember hearing these songs in school in the 1990s. Which is equivalent to if kids today in school were being taught popular songs from the 70s.

The year Nickelodeon was launched as Pinwheel in 1977 (it rebranded to Nick in 1979), was the same year:
