I believe the rare intro is from 1998 not 1999 and I think the original 1998 airing of When Aunt Lena did the Rhumba has the Kemp intro along with Worksong

I know that because I remember watching those episodes back in October 1998 and I think the Kemp intro was first used in October 1998 October 8th to be exact when When Aunt Lena did the Rhumba premiered which was the 2nd to last season 17 episode and was also used on Worksong the season finale and the other 3 episodes that season still had the original 1983 intro. So the intro is from October 8th 1998 until September 2001 then in September 2001 the Chaka intro premiered on the older episodes even though that intro is actually from 2000 when season 18 premiered with the shaman’s apprentice a tale of the Amazon on October 23rd 2000

That is a bummer the recording that drew traicher uploaded from the episode When Aunt Lena did the Rhumba the low quality one but there are 2 hq versions of the intro uploaded one by Vance’s tv archive recorded in February 1999 and 1 by closing logos hd from Amazon video. I really wanted to know what year the low quality one by drew traicher was recorded

Anybody remember seeing this rare intro in 1998 like for the episodes When Aunt Lena did the Rhumba and Worksong premiered on October 8th and 9th 1998 respectively?
I got some big news I was just told by PBS Kids unite a Facebook group that I’m part of and guess what the intro actually premiered on October 8th 1998 with the episode When Aunt Lena did the Rhumba and was also used on Worksong I’m not kidding at all and I think I remember seeing the original airings of those episodes myself isn’t that very interesting

Wow so that rare intro sung by Johnny Kemp debuted in October 1998 on When Aunt Lena did the Rhumba thank you very much I kinda knew that myself too because I think I remember seeing the intro in October 1998 as a 2 year old myself I was born in August 1996 the 1st. Very cool and interesting and you were not even kidding at all
