Something you thought was fake, but is actually real

When I was really young and not active on Youtube as much as I am now, I thought that the buildings from The Amazing World of Gumball were just either really good drawings made to look 3d or just 3d renders made with the most expensive and top-notch tech. My first memories of Gumball were in 2013, so I was around 3 years old

Funnily enough, I actually watched it as a kid as well, except I watched the WHOLE MOVIE. Even crazier was that it was the ONLY Garfield movie I had known about at the time, having never heard of the live-action movies nor the other 2 CGI animated movies until like, 2019 I think?

The Maakana Show, a strange CGI adult animated series from The Maldives that is a satire on the news in the Maldives it seems? It has some weird looking... birds(?) as the main characters(though other species also show up & I assume that their designs are somewhat based on Maldivian news figures) & sometimes has segments taking place outside of the news station, all done in surreal looking low poly CGI. This one I'm willing to bet people are going to say that I'm lying & that this isn't real because I mean... LOOK AT THIS. Does this LOOK like an actual TV show & not some drug-induced fever dream that Joel would've dreamed up? The fact that it's in Dhivehi, a language that isn't all to well known or spoken & has a noticeably distinct writing system, just adds to the fever dream feeling(NOTE: no offense to anyone from The Maldives; this is just something that fascinates me because I love finding out about such strange pieces of animation).

You know, maybe there should be an iceberg for this subject. I can easily a couple of these as entries. Other subjects that could be entries on such an iceberg are Dingo Pictures' movies, Phoenix Games in general, this weird MS-DOS game of unknown origin, THIS SONG, etc.

This gem

For context - this logo for the Chicago Fire had leaked in April 2018. It initially leaked through blurred photos in the r/MLS subreddit. I, like many, called bullshit, because the logo looked so bad. Like WTF is that design? It was designed by an actual logo studio; the same one that had designed the Inter Miami logo (which was well received). It looks like one of those fake logos you see in a FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer team when the developers couldn't get the license for a specific team, so they had to make a totally fake logo for the unlicensed team.

It was real and there was a PR campaign to sell it. It was horribly received. Not surprisingly they changed the logo 2 years later.
