I remember this one guy who claimed he sold his friend's Nickelodeon Guts trophy for $500,000 and used it to buy a copy of The Electric Piper. Then he said that he would only give it out to the winners of an Electric Piper YTP contest. After people started calling him out, he claimed that he just sold his copy of the movie because we weren't being nice to him.

I remember staying up until around 2 in the morning one day just talking with other people. I never really used the shoutbox much, I joined the discord pretty soon after.

I remember the days after The Electric Piper was found and people on the shoutbox were talking about anything BUT lost media, instead opting to talk about foreign dubs of Spongebob, specifically the Albanian dub because it was allegedly "lost" when it wasn't lost at all.
This trend fortunately died out by the time Bedhead Bernie posted his video on Clock Man.
I remember around 2013-2014 when I was a lurker back on the old wikia days I would spend my whole day looking at the shoutbox and watching the conversations going on. I was always too shy to say anything because I thought that I wouldn't have anything to talk about. In the summer of 2016 I finally made the big step and joined the forums and main website, but I still didn't use the shoutbox. It wasn't until early 2017 when I decided to finally talk, but the shoutbox became inactive since the Discord server launched. So I said my first words on the Discord.
I'll always remember the shoutbox for letting me see what the community was up to when I was a lurker.
Good times. Good times
Rest in peace, ShoutMix. Gone, but never forgotten.
i remember the day i first came here the shout box was rather dead but i did meet paul mcartney and dycaite that day and things just took off from there
The Shoutbox used to be the only place where I could instantly communicate with other members, the only place where I didn't have to care about grammar, facts, I could just emote. It wasn't much, but it was amazing to me considering the only thing like it I had seen beforehand was IIRC. TEP was found on it, 847 leads were discovered on it, and people shared their love for the Lost Media community on it. I didn't join the official Discord until December, and I remember still posting in the Shoutbox in February and March. That was when most people silently waved goodbye, and abandoned ship. I didn't use it once throughout April and May, which really signaled to me it's upcoming death. The only people there were the people who wanted to find stuff like Albanian Spingebub, and The Beatles Cartoon in Spanish, so it honestly felt to me like I was never going to use it again. Then, some raids happened, the official company announcement came, and I finally decided I was going to type up my good by and send it to the world.
