Cancelled movies/alternate cuts discussion thread.

Oh………. Well, I’d have to hope that at least an animatic for any of the ending ideas exists with voice acting, so that if the film ever gets leaked, I could stitch that on at the end to create a more “complete” cut of the film. 

Btw, did the names for the characters in the pictures ever get revealed? I gave the Christmas elf-looking one the nickname “socky”.

If I may ask, how likely do you think it is for this movie to get leaked online?

Yeah, that seems likely. Do you think any endings actually exist at all? Like, in the form of animatics and stuff? 

But to be fair, there is a lot of interest and outcry for other cancelled animated films like Larrikins, Me and My Shadow, and any tax write-off WB discovery films, and those haven’t been leaked at all. 

Mhmm. Which ending do you think they would’ve gone with. If I’m honest, the one where Jack is revived and returns to his son Henry would’ve been a garbage-ass ending. 

Oh…… I’m guessing the conductor of that train must have also died. I guess that would explain who the ghost who was trolling Henry in that one clip was.

Now that I think about it, I also couldn’t help but notice that a lot of clips take place around the very same city block. The kids getting chased by ghosts, the large cookie chasing the van, the unnamed ghost with the big nose getting sucked inside the Hauntlet and then being shot out, all those clips take place in the same spot. I guess this would’ve been a bottle movie?

I suppose that makes sense. 

If I’m honest, I imagine that if this movie was never cancelled, it would’ve gotten delayed to the summer of 2016, and it would have competed with Ghostbusters 2016. 

In fact, I could see it becoming a huge meme online with two ghost films being out in cinemas at the same time, and considering the very poor reception of the 2016 film (which I personally liked), B.O.O probably could have dominated the box office over Ghostbusters.

Well to be fair, there are also a bunch (and I don’t exaggerate when I mean a bunch) of people who really hate the movie not even for gender reasons or anything, but because they straight up think it’s an awful film, with unlikeable characters, jokes that drag on too long (in other words: poor comedic timing), a forgettable villain who has the “i was bullied, so I must take revenge on humanity” trope, among other things that I’ve heard people criticize this film for.

I don’t personally agree with most of it (except maybe the comedic timing one, some jokes definitely go on way too long), but otherwise, it definitely doesn’t deserve the hate and controversy it gets

But yes, that would’ve been interesting, especially when you consider that both films had Melissa McCarthy and Bill Murray as cast members.

As for Larrikins, it was supposed to come out in February 2018, so it probably wouldn’t have had much competition.
