I do agree that movie is overhated though. Maybe in 10-15 years people will warm up to it.
most people in general like it though, it's mostly really a small loud vocal minority of deeply insecure manchildren who hate it(most of whom haven't even seen it)I know there's some people who have legit reasons for criticizing it, but a ton of the hate i've seen for it is from those outrage trolls.
Anyways back on topic another dreadful animated film is The Magic Voyage, yet another crappy animated film I learned about after Nostalgia Critic reviewed it.

Yeah.
Actually, I think I now have a “worst” animated film to talk about, not that I outright hated it, but I wasn’t a huge fan of.
The Super Mario bros. movie 2023. The animation and voice acting was good, but the main problem is that it felt very cut down and edited, as though they were forced to remove like, 30-40 minutes before release. Scenes that should have been 3-5 minutes long were only 20 seconds.

Something had to have happened behind the scenes.
I like parts of that film but overall as far as video game movies go I liked the Sonic movies better as they didn't feel like extended commercials the way the Mario movie did.

I actually liked the Mario movie but dang it, I agree that it needed more time to breathe and also the totally unnecessary use of licensed music at so many scenes infuriated me. I know that Sonic did the same thing with some licensed music, but it felt at least somewhat better integrated for some reason, maybe because the second Sonic movie at least allowed TIME for things like music to sink in.

Of the movies that I have definitely seen the entirety of, I am going to say The Tale of Despereaux. I have nothing specific against rodent movies; I liked Ratatouille, I liked Ernest & Celestine, and I actually liked Flushed Away far more than I should have, despite its mid critical reception and poor box office performance. The Despereaux movie, however, had no appeal to me at all. The aspect that I disliked the most was probably the designs of the human characters, which I remember made me feel uncomfortable as I was watching the movie in the cinema. Besides that, I can hardly remember any of the rest of the movie, but I likely found it to be overly boring and/or confusing, and I highly doubt that the movie would be worth re-watching.

I only recently learned about that film's existence and it sounds interesting, i'll have to see it for myself.

Oh my gosh, so I'm not the only person who noticed this. Like it annoyed me so much watching the film because all the characters would talk but it never felt like they were talking to each other. The whole film felt like you could pull out any scene and put it in a trailer or short social media clip. It's like a whole film designed for clip compilations and reaction memes.

Yeah. It felt way too cut down. Definitely overrated. It’s like a great, yet incomplete puzzle due to the cuts.
I know animated movies don’t usually receive extended cuts, but I think this should be an exception. It was a big success, so I’m sure they have plenty of money to spare to finish the deleted and extended scenes or shots.

Have you read the original book at all? It's hauntingly beautiful and from the same author as Because of Winn Dixie (among many other wonderful novels). I remember seeing the movie back in 2008 and it was...okay? I agree that the designs were not particularly good, especially in comparison to the original book's stunning art.

I have not read the book, I'm afraid. Though I do recall seeing the book before, and at that time, I observed that the illustrated mouse character on the cover was more loyal to the appearance of a real-life mouse. It provoked me to wonder what possessed the film's creators to think that it was a good idea to instead make the mouse into a disproportionate monstrosity!
And though the book may indeed be far superior to the movie, I'm afraid that I won't be confirming that for myself, as I don't ever read entire books now. I was only truly "into" reading books when I was thirteen, which was when it was the only thing that I was good at.
