Hi. I'm new to the forums, though I've been interested in lost media and have lurked on the Lost Media Wiki for a couple of years now. And after somewhere around 15 or so years of searching online, off and on, for the subjects of this post, I figure that this place may be one of the best chances of finding at least something about them.
What I've been looking for are two DOS games that I had as a kid, that came on a copied 5.25" floppy disk that I got when I got my first computer, an IBM XT, for my tenth birthday, (I think, anyway...) placing the time frame of when I first got the games at around 1992. So, obviously, the games were made sometime before that, probably somewhere in the early or mid 1980's, and I don't remember any timestamps being associated with either game, either written on the disk or being anywhere in the text within the games themselves. A big problem with this search I've had, is that I don't really remember the actual names of the games, though I believe that they were simply titled Golf and Wheel Of Fortune, and both were made entirely with ASCII graphics. And like I've already stated, I've done searches for around 15 years trying to find them, but have found very little information on them.
At one point, years ago, I found a webpage that had a single screenshot from the golf game, but that's all I ever found, and currently cannot find it again. I've found absolutely nothing about the version of Wheel Of Fortune I had, unfortunately. I've been able to find absolutely nothing else anywhere, including extensive searches on tons of abandonware and other vintage gaming sites, Internet Archive, GameFAQs, MobyGames, and so many other sites over the years, all to no avail. I'm sincerely hoping that someone here might have some insight on the games, and anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
*UPDATE*
So, I found this after another long night of searching about 3 nights ago as of this update:
www.playdosgames.com/online/pc-golf/
www.kitchensinc.net
According to the information I was able to find over the past couple of days, it seems this was a version created by late game programmer Jim Kitchen, who seemed to specialize in blind-accessible games.
This golf game seems to be exactly like the one that I played on my old IBM back in the early 1990's, and I would swear that Kitchen either took that version and simply added to it, or just completely copied it exactly from the ground up, with his extras thrown in. I can't find enough information to confirm my suspicions, so I'm still treating his version as a different game. It may help find what I'm looking for, ultimately, though, if it isn't actually just a beefed-up version of the game I had, as I've been suspecting the past couple of days since my find.
