Hi Guys! Okay, so, I want to keep this short and sweet so that people can know whats up. Also, I know this isn't exactly a film, but its still lost media, so...
In 1985-1986 there was a short-lived Broadway production centered around the well known dolls 'Raggedy Ann and Andy', loosely based off the 1977 movie and real life happenings in the Gruelle family (i.e. Marcella Gruelle falling ill and dying). The show did not do well due to its dark themes such as death, divorce, sexual themes, parental abandonment/neglect, alcoholism and even suicide, so it only had very few showings within the year it was public due to the angry moms.
The only things that seem to have survived is a copy of the playbill(1), the demo tape soundtrack(2), a 30 minute documentary of its showing in Russia(3) and a negative article/review of the production(4).
I'm currently trying to hunt down any recording of the play (there seems to be none), no matter how shoddy it may be, or even just a script. Only a few clips of the performance exist through the documentary, and other than that the whole thing seems to be completely lost.
A lot of the cast is hard to find and contact over the internet, or they have died, so its getting to be very difficult to actually get any information on this musical. If you want to join on my hunt to find the script to this odd, elusive little musical, then hell yeah lmk.
