I'd say look at something like FLCL, the ending at least to me felt a bit unsatisfying but the fact that it was left ambiguous (for everyone except two characters) doesn't make it a bad ending necessarily, it allows you to come up with your own ending and what happened afterwards.
I sure am glad they left it like that and never made any series which actively tarnish the original in hindsight...

...why should there even be an app in the first place? It's pretty easy to use the forums on Safari, probably other mobile browsers too + don't we have a Discord or something? I feel like this is a solution for a problem we don't have.
It'd be nice to have, especially for someone like me.

Do you have any other details about where you first heard of it? Who's claiming it exists, sources for the claim, and stuff like that.
I love the category but this is like the third unknown SpongeBob thing that's popped up within the past few months. Are there really that many lost commercials from as far into the series as the mid to late 2000s?
I first heard of this from the Dunces and Dragon's episode page on the SpongeBob Wiki (specifically under the Trivia section)
Most people in the Lost Media community today weren't around back then. And lostwave tends to attract a younger, naïver demographic. It's also far easier to hoax than the classical version of lost media - you like an obscure song? Post it as "lostwave" and watch it instantly get tons of attention! (Note: please do NOT do that.)
It's honestly sad that we're letting the old principles of lost media hunting get lost on this new generation. The last thing we need is more attention from bad actors. Heavens knows we got enough of that already.

Meanwhile, Doremi is STILL getting new merch and new animated sequences 20+ years after its premiere. It's wild how POPULAR it still is over in Japan (among other places), while here....it basically aired a handful of (questionably) dubbed episodes, then dropped off, and that was IT for the franchise. Doremi is a BIG deal abroad!
Yeah, if only we could get a more faithful localization...
