Believe it or not there is another lost Blink 182 music video out there though I have to admit it isn't as interesting as the Sponge Bob Blink 182 video, but it still shocks me that it doesn't appear to be anywhere on the internet. After watching the Sonic 2 movie and hearing about the rumors of Jim Carrey retiring I was looking back on his career and was reminded of the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and ended up looking back into it after all these years. I ended up getting reminded of two songs I hadn't thought about in a long time as well, The Polyphonic Spree's "Reach for the Sun" and Blink 182's "Miss you". I decided to look up the music videos for both but that's where I ran into the problem.

This is not the music video I remember playing on TV back in 2004. It's a good video but it's not the one I remember seeing play on VH1 all the time. The one I remember had members of Blink 182 cut into scenes of the movie and then at times having their face superimposed on Jim Carrey's face sing along with the song creating this really unsettling and uncanny valley feel to the video (which fits into the movie's theme). Over the past 24 hours I've been doing my best at googling possible times and places to find the video but nothing has come up.

This video is probably the closest to it as it's set to clips of the movie, but its not the music video I'm looking for so I want to get that out of the way. In the end the video really was meant to promote the movie more that the bands song so it would make sense that the more traditional music video is out there once promotion for the movie has ended but the VH1 Eternal Sunshine one is the one I'm just more familiar with. Now there is a chance that perhaps many people never actually saw this version on a regular basis.
At the time of Eternal Sunshine and Blink 182's Miss you came out I was stationed overseas in Okinawa. Any time I had a doctor or dental appointment that much (it was a hell of a month) they would have VH1 or MTV playing in the lobby. Since Okinawa is on the otherside of the world, 2pm in Oki time was around midnight in the states so perhaps this particular video was just playing a filler at a time no one was really watching, but I feel like there had to have been others who remember it. Considering this was from 2004 though there is a chance the video is just lost but I was hoping someone out there might have clue about it like with the King of the Hill movie promo. Thank you. ^v^
