These will NEVER get their article as it's definitely unconfirmed... let's imagine some cool lost media!!
Even better if it's something that would have been very likely to have happened!
The Chipmunk Adventure on NES!! Konami, Nintendo. Around 1987.
Alvin & The Chipmunks was quite a popular cartoon series during the 1980s. It lasted 100 episodes and had much merchandise. The 1987 feature film is still a nostalgic favorite among 80s-90s kids.
Which begs the question: why wasn't there any video game based on the license back then??
There are a few video games based on the latest live-action/CGI films... but any self-respecting Alvin fan would prefer to not focus on them!!
And yet... there seems to have been video games that were in development based on the Alvin franchise!!
Announced by magazines, and mentioned by creators in interviews!!
Among them, The Chipmunk Adventure would have gotten the most focus!
Play as either Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette or Eleanore - each girl/boy would play the same as their opposite-gender counterpart. Alvin/Brittany is balanced, Simon/Jeanette is quick but weak, Theodore/Eleanore is slow but strong.
The Chipmunks and Chipettes would collect as much Diamond Dolls as possible, while avoiding natural dangers, wild beasts and especially the evil goons who want to get the diamonds!
Levels are set in different world locations as seen in the movie, such as Mexico, Greece, the Middle-East, Antarctica, the wild rainforest... face the opposite team in bonus musical dance-off levels (Because when a girl/boy does Rock & Roll!!), and it all ends in an infernal final level set in the airport, where a conveyor belt labyrinth will surely have you throw your controllers in frustration!!
Unfortunately, due to some licensing problems, budget discussions, creative disputes with Ross Bagdasarian and the Chipmunks brand losing steam, plans into releasing this game to the market have gone into a halt.
Legend has it that a prototype cartridge has surfaced on Ebay... but it was quickly bought off and both parties have vanished from memory... a picture seems to have been kept, but it unconfirmed if it was real.
A few years later, Konami would develop other games based on a popular animated series centered on anthropomorphic animal children... Tiny Toons!
Even better if it's something that would have been very likely to have happened!
