"In 2006, the production company Xilam produced an animated series of Morris's Rantanplan stories in 90 second episodes, broadcast on France 3. It is broadcast in Canada on YTV under the name Rintindumb, and was distributed by Warner Bros. Television. It featured the voices of Maurice LaMarche and Rob Paulsen. It was on Rovio's ToonsTV until 2015."

Wikipedia isn't always right, anyone can edit their stuff. I think this is true, though.
Oh, Rantanplan... that "Lucky Luke" character who ended up hogging the spotlight along with the Daltons...
Rantanplan HOGGED this spotlight? if this is hogging the spotlight idk what obscure is lol:p
Because Rantanplan is originally a character from a very famous and popular French-Belgian comic book series called Lucky Luke, which is about the adventures of a cowboy who is an ace shooter in the Old West.
This comic book series is almost unknown outside Europe. Only a few issues have been translated in English.
Rantanplan is a stupid dog who often hangs around Lucky Luke. He was popular enough to even get his own spinoff series.
Oddly enough, in the few English translations of the comics, Rantanplan was translated as "Rin Tin Can" because he was originally a parody of Rin Tin Tin, a dog hero from the 1950s TV series The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin.
While Rin Tin Tin was brave and smart, Rantanplan is stupid, lazy and can barely understand the reality around him. By the way, "Rantanplan" in French is meant to be the sound of drumming (as in, military drums).
ooh I didn't know the extent to the Lucky Luke thing, interesting!
You must realize that Lucky Luke is a really famous comic series here in France (and much of Western Europe). It had many animated series apart from that Rantanplan one! Plus one that focuses on his archenemies the Dalton brothers!
Lucky Luke is as much a household name here as are the Smurfs (originally a Belgian comic series, doncha know?). They were published in the same magazine, even!
