This is a long shot, but I'm making this thread to try and aid in my search. Awhile ago I heard a Alternative Rock song from the 2000s. I am pretty sure it was Canadian. It had a really classic sounding hook, making me think it was a song older than that. And the theme of the song was basically about how awful this guy was, I am racking my brain to remember more about it. It was upbeat and I think it said something about "I would just lie to you" but I am not sure... It was a hit I believe, So I am trying to retrace my steps and search through Canadian alternative artists from the 90s and 2000s But I was just wondering if yall could help out. I know it's not a lot to go on but I'd know it when i hear it. It's on the tip of my tongue and it's driving me crazy! (I likely heard it on the Stingray Retro cable channel)
After thinking about it and having no luck I thought of another song and band that I can't find either! Lol. Cept this one I remember a little more from. It was also Alternative Rock/Indie but it was heavier sounding. The guy's voice reminded me a bit of like System Of A Down, but it wasn't as heavy as that. It was theatrical and creepy sounding, It was definitely from Canada, I think 2010s, but it could have been 2000s, there was a part in the lyrics were the guy says "you get real high but do you get f***ed up?"
Edit: This second song I believe also had a one word title. For the life of me, I thought it was a band called Bear Mountain. But I looked them up, and it doesn't sound anything like it...

Welp I found the first song. By accident lol. I didn't think I would cause of how vague my memory of it was. But it's called "Can't Stand Me" by The Libertines so basically the few things I did remember about the song we're wrong lol...
