I’m just gonna apologize right off the bat cause I can’t remember many details about this segment but this has bothered me for many years and I’m hoping someone here can help me satisfy my curiosity. I would probably have seen this segment sometime between 2001 and 2006, but there’s a good chance the episode was a rerun which aired much earlier. I remember the segment starts with a view of a door with a private eyes named printed on the door, which I can’t remember, and he’s doing a voice over in a deep voice. I remember the segment had a very different tone than a usually episode of Sesame Street or the muppets would have, very serious without any of the humor or silliness like usual. I remember the puppet being dressed like a detective but I don’t think you could see his face. I remember another puppet enters the office and he seems nervous about something but I can’t remember what and the two talk for a bit. I can’t remember if it was one long segment or if the bit was revisited multiple times throughout the episode, but I know it had nothing to do with the story being told. There’s probably more that happens in between the man coming to the private eye and the ending, but these are the only 2 parts I actually have memories of. At the end I remember the detective is back in his office and gets another knock on the door. The door opens and this alien like black tentacle comes into the office and grabs him. It ended on a very vague note and I remember it scaring me like the detective was gonna he killed or something. I know this post was all over the place but maybe someone else remembers and was creeped out by this an can help me find it now. Thanks
I bet Muppet Central would be able to nail this in a second... I wonder if it was one of the detective segments with Colambo the lamb.
That’s super helpful! It might have been but it’s honestly been so long I wouldn’t be able to tell one way or another. I’ll go make an account on there and post it and hopefully get a response. I’ll update here when I hear back
