Greetings LMW! First thread/post here.
I introduce a game that is very illusive. I can confirm the existence of it, but no video footage of gameplay, a ROM, or anything of the sort seems to exist for it. Just writing and pictures.
What is it exactly?:
In 1997 Parappa the Rapper was released on the PS1. Two years later, Parappa would receive a spin off within the same fictional universe called Um Jammer Lammy. However, something not as well known was that there was also an arcade release of the PS1 classic handled by Namco titled "Um Jammer Lammy: Now!"
What I know for sure:
- It uses a guitar peripheral as a controller and was two player.
- The cutscenes from the PS1 version were retained.
- There were three difficulties included in the game as opposed to the original's two.
- It runs on Namco System 12 hardware.
What I think I know:
- The inputs in the rhythm bars were changed to accommodate for the controller.

I looked to see if a owners manual for UJL Now! was for sale, but found nothing atm. I have seen it listed before though. It's unknown just how different this version is, because most reports say that it is the same. That being said, we know there are different difficulties, and believe there are different inputs. Some say Parappa can be used in stage 1 on the arcade version, some say the sound quality is better than the PS1 version.
One last thing to mention/show : www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkfkEzVDBCc&app=desktop
Is the unused level related? Maybe (probably not though). I found the source for this picture in an Um Jammer Lammy guide book I purchased for collectors purposes. I can't read it as it is in Japanese, but maybe if I could get a high quality scan someone else could translate it?
Ideally we would somehow get video footage of the game, and a rom dump of some sort to play as well. It'd be great if people could experience this game for themselves in someway or another.
