A few weeks ago, my class saw the VHS version of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, since we just finished the book. We noticed that a lot of important parts of the book we’re missing, like the school bus, or when Mama gets fired from her job. I looked it up and it turns out that there are two versions of the movie, the VHS/DVD version, and the original, roughly 4-hour version. I haven’t been able to find this original version online.
