Been meaning to post this somewhere for ages, this seems like the best place to do it...
I have a Pac-Man flyer from 1983, which seems to be for companies licensing out the character. There’s nothing too notable about it, except for this excerpt from the bottom:
“Hollywood! A full-length feature film starring Pac-Man will be released in the Spring of ’84.”
I’ve seen no other mention of the film elsewhere, except in an interview with Toru Iwatani (creator of Pac-Man). There he states that “…there was a plan to produce a live action PacMan film in the US, but it never happened”. (https://geekculture.co/interview-with-toru-iwatani-creator-of-pac-man/)
Clearly nothing came of this, but did anything survive? Was anything even created, or did they just put it on a flyer prematurely? Could the video game crash of 1983 have something to do with it?

Never heard of this before. Very interesting find, but I have no idea how far it could have gotten, possibly at the point of a script being written. I will see what I can find on this
this might be a clip. i know what your thinking but no,its not the tv show. if you pause at 7 seconds you can clearly see that the ghosts are all pink, not different colors. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jbMe6g471I

I’ve discovered something interesting. It seems there were actually *two* canceled Pac-Man films - one in 1984, and another in 2008. The ‘08 one was to be produced by Crystal Sky, and seems to be the one Iwatani mentioned, as it’s specifically stated to be live-action. Googling “crystal sky pacman” yields quite a few results, but its mostly just people making fun of it...
