Ok, this has been bothering me for so long almost ten years now, it wasn't until "The Wire" search when I was reminded of it. So let me tell you about it before I forget.
Ok, this has been bothering me for so long almost ten years now, it wasn't until "The Wire" search when I was reminded of it. So let me tell you about it before I forget.
The Name: unknown I'll call it 'The Old Town' for now.
Channel: Treehouse (a Canadian preschool cable channel very similar to Nick Jr
Time it aired: 2007-10 (I distinctly remember watching it in 2007-9
Length: 30-60 minutes? (I remember it being 60 min but I could be wrong)
Type of program: Animated Special? (I think it was a special program, but for all, I know it could have been a full TV show, but it was definitely animated)
Animation style: Digital hand drawn or flash (Simple but off model the backgrounds were detailed, but the moving objects like people were simple with flat colours and with weirdly drawn faces)
About: Ok I'm going to tell you everything I know. 'The Old Town' started with a narrator talking about this town; the narrator had a soft male voice, and the town the narrator was talking about was not from the US or Canada, the roads are all dirt roads the house's looked like huts, the people I think had tanned skin, but the town had people driving around in foreign cars I believe that 'The Old Town' took place in India or maybe Jerusalem. I remember the narrator told stories of the town that were all happening at the same time one of these stories was of a little boy that gets this remote-controlled race car. The boy wore a yellow shirt and blue pants; the RC car was red with yellow stripes the car model was kinda like the RC car from the first Toy Story but red and yellow, other than that I don't remember much of the special other than the ending.
Ending: I remember it was night time and the narrator was saying goodnight to the main characters of the stories he told, I distinctly remember the narrator saying goodnight to the little boy. It cuts to the boy's room the boy was in his pajamas on his bed playing with the RC car; then the narrator called him out saying something like "Hey what do you think you're doing." then the boy's mom walks in, and the boy puts the car away the mom then shuts the lights off the boy goes under the covers and goes to sleep. It then fades to a shot of the whole town it zooms out a bit then fade to black.
