Hey, my parents remembered this 90s commercial, and through asking around on the Internet I found out most of what I need to know about this commercial. Apparently the premise was that this American couple's car broke down in the desert and this boy comes over the hill yelling what sounds like "Etienne! Etienne fix everything!", but when they get to the village they find out that it's actually an ATM. The commercial was most likely for Visa, as it fit in with their "It's everywhere you want to be" campaign from the time, but there is an off-chance it might actually be MasterCard. However, I can't find a video of it online. Could you help me out, perchance? (Maybe you have it on one of those VHSs).
*Side note: I assume companies could take down videos of commercials, but this would likely be useless for them as the commercials are nothing but free advertising. However, I could imagine it happening for a particularly embarrassing commercial (say, that one with Cosby and the Jell-O pop).
I'm honored! I never expected to find out this much about the commercial or actually find someone involved in its production. The rights to it are probably still owned by Visa so that might complicate matters if we tracked the original down (though I doubt they'd notice), but do you think it's possible the ad agency that made it still has a copy? I remember an episode of Weird US in which they tracked down a commercial featuring notorious bank robber Willie Sutton.
It's interesting that it was actually shot in Morocco. I haven't seen the commercial myself obviously so I don't know exactly how it looked, but I'd've thought that you could've filmed in any desert and no one would've noticed.

This reminds me of a similar Credit Card ad where a dog ran away from home the family looked for it and finally found it. It was a 3 part ad that played over 6 months.
