my sister remembers seeing it, and so do i. i don't think we'll see it again, probably because it caused a few people panic attacks. to be completely honest, it almost gave me one the first time i saw it.
Finally, here's the production companies if people want to go that route. Signpost Up Ahead DiGa Vision MTV Production Development (these seem to be all in one?) Dimension Television (it's the same as the Weinstein Company, just under a different name.)
i bet someone on the original marketing team has the clip, you would have better luck contacting someone who worked on MTV scream then actually contacting mtv (because i bet they get a shit ton of emails a day)

Weinstein again? I thought they were working with Reagal.
Hey guys, In the TvTropes article for Nightmare Fuel in Advertising, I added this ad as an example. Knowing the community, methinks that someone will later add the commercial to my example.
I don't know if any of you have heard this, but at one point, MTV was allegedly running a YouTube before-video advertisement for their horror show ''Scream''. The first five seconds of the video were of a disturbing grey face with creepy voices in the background saying ''CLICK SKIP AND DIE. CLICK SKIP AND DIE.''. However, due to not being able to find it anywhere on YouTube and only finding one screenshot of it, I am starting to question it's existence. One individual told me that the ad was removed due to YouTube receiving several complaints about it. This is the screenshot I was able to find of it:
"Disturbing grey face with creepy voices in the background" I think I found something that sort of matches that description. It's an ad for the evil dead.

bumping this thread here: the ad's been found. However this seems to be another version of the ad, as it has the ghost facing at the camera instead of the side: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRaoaN91Azc
