Ahoy! I made a few post about this two years ago on an old and since deleted reddit account but I've been searching off and on for this for a long time.
I have a very distinct memory of watching Nickelodeon, probably sometime between 2006-2009, and one time when an episode of spongebob began it had a strange intro. Instead of Painty The Pirate, the painted pirate who says "Are you ready kids?" and such there was a painting of a pear without any dialogue. This then cut to a cgi model of spongebob's house with a live action band superimposed onto it. They were wearing plaid and played a unique version of the theme song. That is all I can remember of it with any level of certainty, that is of course assuming it to be real at all. At the time I had many bizarre dreams related to Spongebob and other Nick shows so it is entirely possible that this is something like that. That being said others on those old reddit post did claim to have seen something like it for what that's worth. With the sheer amount of Spongebob content out there including many things made with the sole intent of airing once for a special episode or other event it's possible that this is among them.
Things I can confirm this is not:
- The Bollywood musical promo
- A segment from Truth or Square
- Footage created for a ride or park
- An intro made for an alternate language dub
I really do think this exist in some form but I do not want to post about this in the main lost media board for the risk of it turning out to be a false memory. I hope that if I continue to look through old recordings onlinec there is a chance that it might just show up on it's own but any and all help or others being able to recall such a thing would be greatly appericiated. More obscure Nick stuff being recovered, no matter how small, is always a big win for the community. Thank you for reading!
